What exactly is Tarot reading? Is it about predicting the future, making decisions, or understanding yourself better?
After more than 20 years of reading Tarot, I would say it is all of these—and much more.
Tarot is a deck of 78 beautifully symbolic cards whose archetypal images connect with our intuition and subconscious mind. Sometimes, a card can bring up an old memory, an emotion, or something we already know deep within but have not consciously acknowledged.
How Does Tarot Reading Work?
A Tarot reading begins with a question, intention or situation. The cards that appear are then interpreted in relation to the question, the surrounding cards and, most importantly, the intuition of the Tarot reader.
Two people can receive the same Tarot card and have completely different interpretations because context matters. This is why Tarot reading is not simply about memorising card meanings. An experienced Tarot reader combines knowledge, symbolism, intuition and an understanding of the person and situation.
Can Tarot Predict the Future?
Yes, Tarot can offer insights into future possibilities and likely patterns. It can help you understand where a situation may be heading, make important decisions, solve problems and recognise opportunities.
A Tarot reading can also suggest remedies or practical ways of working through life’s challenges, helping you move towards greater balance and alignment with your higher self and purpose.
But I always tell my clients: do not treat a Tarot reading as the word of God. Take it with a pinch of salt.
Tarot gives you something incredibly valuable—a bird’s-eye view of your life. It can show you the path, but you still have free will. You decide where you go.
