What Tarot Taught Me About Human Dignity

For over twenty years, people have sat across from me, handling Tarot cards with trembling hands. They come seeking answers about love, career, health, or the future. Yet, behind every question lies something far deeper.

A longing to feel worthy.

I still remember a young woman who came to me after years of emotional abuse. She wasn’t asking whether her relationship would survive. Instead, she quietly asked, “Do you think I deserve to be happy?” That question stayed with me long after the cards were put away.

Contrary to popular belief, Tarot isn’t merely about predicting the future. It is a mirror that reflects the stories we tell ourselves. More often than not, the greatest obstacle isn’t fate—it is the belief that we are somehow less deserving than everyone else. One of the most powerful lessons Tarot has taught me is that human dignity is our birthright.

Take The Empress, for instance. She reminds us that abundance begins with self-worth. Strength teaches that courage isn’t loud; it is the quiet decision to keep going despite life’s hardships. The Star appears after the darkness of The Tower, gently reminding us that hope always returns, even when life has fallen apart. Time and again, I’ve watched remarkable transformations—not because the cards changed someone’s destiny, but because they helped people reclaim their own value.

A businessman who believed one failure defined his life found the confidence to build again. A widow discovered that grief and joy could coexist. A teenager burdened by comparison realized that her journey did not need to resemble anyone else’s.

The cards didn’t give them dignity.

They reminded them that they had never lost it.

In a world obsessed with labels, achievements, and social validation, Tarot invites us to remember something profoundly simple: your worth does not fluctuate with your circumstances. Success, relationships, money, and recognition may come and go, but dignity remains constant.

My dear readers, after thousands of readings, I no longer believe my purpose is to tell people what the future holds. My purpose is to help them walk into that future remembering who they truly are.
