Using Tarot to Hear Yourself More Clearly

Have you ever met someone for the first time and immediately thought, “Something about this person doesn’t feel right”? You couldn’t explain it. There was no obvious reason. Yet months later, you found yourself thinking, “I knew it!”

That little feeling has a name: intuition. And here’s the good news—you don’t have to be psychic to have it. We all have intuition. The challenge is learning to recognise it before our logical mind, fears, and everyone else’s opinions drown it out. I remember a client telling me about a career decision she had been struggling with. She had spoken to her parents, friends, and colleagues, made lists of pros and cons, and still couldn’t decide. During her Tarot reading, a card brought her attention to something she hadn’t considered: she was not actually afraid of choosing the wrong career. She was afraid of disappointing her family. That realisation changed the conversation completely. The Tarot hadn’t decided for her. It had helped her see herself more clearly. And that’s one of the most beautiful ways to work with Tarot.

Used thoughtfully, Tarot can be a mirror. The cards can help you explore questions such as: What am I not seeing? What is holding me back? What strength am I overlooking? Why do I keep repeating this pattern? You can develop intuition in many ways—meditation, journaling, spending a few quiet minutes in silence, noticing how your body responds to people and situations, or simply learning to pause before reacting.

Tarot can become another doorway into that self-awareness. The purpose isn’t to become dependent on the cards or ask them what to do at every turn. Quite the opposite. The goal is to become more empowered—to understand your patterns, recognise your blind spots, trust your strengths, and make choices that feel genuinely aligned with you. This is what I explore in my Tarot workshops for self-awareness and clarity. We use Tarot not simply to ask “What will happen?” but to ask, “What can I understand about myself?”

My dear readers, your best life isn’t waiting to be predicted. It’s waiting to be consciously created—and intuition can be one of your most powerful guides.
