Resilience and personal growth through Tarot

The Comeback is Always Stronger than the Setback

by | Feb 5, 2025

As I write this article, I am in the process of healing—recovering from a major health issue and hospitalization. This journey took me back to my childhood, to the months spent in hospitals, bravely fighting and overcoming congenital health challenges. But even as a child, there was something within me that refused to give up. I was determined to bounce back, and I did! Over time, I rebuilt and grew—completing my master’s degree, working at a top consulting firm, traveling to over 16 countries, raising a family, and eventually starting my own Lady of Tarot studio in a new city. Each step was a lesson in resilience and personal growth. Life is full of challenges, and setbacks often test our determination. However, history has shown that a strong comeback can overshadow even the toughest obstacles.

From sports to business, countless individuals have faced major setbacks only to return stronger and achieve greatness. Take Muhammad Ali, for instance. After being banned from boxing for refusing military service, he returned to the ring and won the heavyweight title against George Foreman in 1974. His story proves that setbacks do not define a person—how they rise afterward does. Venus Williams, diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disorder causing extreme fatigue, refused to surrender to her condition. With perseverance and lifestyle changes, she made an incredible comeback, reaching the finals of Wimbledon and the Australian Open in 2017. In business, Steve Jobs was once fired from Apple, the very company he co-founded. But he didn’t let that stop him. Years later, he returned with renewed vision, transforming Apple into one of the most valuable companies in the world.

What do these stories teach us? They teach us to believe in ourselves, trust in the Almighty, or, if one chooses, in the power of the universe through mindful living and meditation. Every heartfelt prayer, when aligned with our highest good, is answered. And if faith is not your path, simply practicing mindfulness will reveal the miracles within you.

My dear readers, setbacks are not failures but lessons in disguise. They test our strength, teach us resilience, and propel us toward greater achievements. The true measure of success is not in avoiding challenges but in embracing them and rising stronger than ever before.

“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi
